Rampur molestation: 14 boys molests two helpless girls, posts the video online

When will this boisterous dance of woman molestation stop? Is being a woman becoming the most grave sin in Today’s time? Should a woman renounce her right to live as a woman even? Such questions have taken over my mind on seeing this outrageous video that shows  two girls being molested in full public view by a group of young men. The video was allegedly shot in Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh.
In the video, Around 12 to 14 boys riding motorcycles blocks the way of the two women on a narrow lonely road, openly molests them and the poor girls can be seen pleading them to let go. Nonetheless, the boys seem to enjoy the act while not paying any heed to girl’s cries of help. Not only this, the most horrific fact is that these  boys are the ones who who shot the entire incident on camera and subsequently posted it on social media.

The fearlessness of the accused could be figured out from the fact that the boys were giggling and making jokes the whole time while molesting the girls unfazed by girl’s continuous requests to let them go.

“Tumahre ghar main behen nahi hai kya (Don’t you have sisters)?” One of the girl can be seen telling the accused but he continuous molesting her and even lifts her at one moment.

According to some media reports police have arrested one accused and investigation is going on. On Sunday, the police arrested prime accused Shehnawaz (20) of Kuwakhera village in Rampur.

“An FIR has been lodged against 14 persons. Main accused Shahnawaz has been arrested and the probe is on,” principal secretary (home) Arvind Kumar said in Lucknow.

There has been a sudden splurge in crimes related to woman in Uttar Pradesh raising serious concern over state’s law and order situation. Meanwhile, most of the accused have still not been arrested at the time of writing the article. It’s extremely painful to see such a despicable display of street harassment and makes us ponder yet again that what have we come to? If this will be the case the day is not far when woman will cease to exist in this universe because apparently they aren’t safe anywhere at all. Neither in society nor in their homes.
